Class Assignment: Describe the voice of another person through example. Hannah Thomas
Asher bounces into the kitchen when I ask him to come put his crayons and paper in the art box. He grabs the plastic container of crayons and it spills all over the linoleum. “annnh” “Please clean up, I’ll help you”. He plops down onto the floor, he is wearing a Spiderman t-shirt , Blue’s Clues underpants, red socks and a huge Spiderman backpack, and begins to pick up crayons. I sit down to help him gather up the crayons. “ This is a long mess,” he says as he picks up a crayon at a time. “Yes honey, it is a big mess.” “ Why is this bendy?”
“ It’s an eraser, it’s made of rubber.” “ I don’t want it to be rubber.” “ Well, it needs to be to work.” We finish cleaning up the crayons and I go to finish my iced tea and newspaper. A short while later I go back into the kitchen where Asher is still sitting on the linoleum. This time he is coloring with markers. “I’m making a king hat mommy. For me.” “Hey, that’s great buddy! Go show daddy.” He takes the hat into the dining room and gives it to his dad to wear. I sit back down with our ice cream and start to read some more. I look up from my newspaper and tell my husband I think he has it on upside down. “No. This is how he had it on.” “ No daddy. The red should show.” He takes the hat from his father and turns it inside out and puts it back on him so that it sits on his forehead and leans against his glasses. I get up from the table and go into the bathroom to wash my hands and comb my hair. I’m leaving the bathroom when Asher hops over with a sheet of paper that he’s formed into a tube. “Here mommy. This is for you.” I take it from his outstretched hand. “ What am I supposed to do with this?” “ Put your face in it and go doot do doo.” I follow his instructions and he is all smiles as he skips off to do something else.

"Hannah Goodman has written a wonderfully witty, engrossing and hilarious novel about sisters and their relationships. Her prose is dead on and her scenes flow effortlessly from one to the other. I can't remember the last time I stayed up to finish a book, but I had to finish My Sister’s Wedding!" Rosemary O’Brien, Author of First Saturday

In the 2005 fall issue of East Bay Living, syndicated columnist cited several famous authors like Grisham and Patricia Cornwell as her favorite authors. She also added, "I also like local authors. There's a young adult book (My Sister's Wedding) by Hannah Goodman, a teacher who lives in Bristol (RI). It has great dialogue."
